Being born right after the failed League of Nations (1919–1946), which the United States never joined, the United Nations was founded in 1945 to maintain global peace and promote international cooperation in solving international economic, social and humanitarian problems. Since then, dozens of sub-agencies took place to tackle different aspects of the UN’s mission: UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, UNESCO, UNOPS, WHO, FAO etc…
Whether you want to contribute in preventing environmental degradation, assist impoverished countries to develop their economies, help stop civil wars and promote global peace, the United Nations might have the ideal job for you. Moreover, the UN is a major employer (employing hundreds of thousands of people worldwide) and offers opportunities for advancement and career variety bigger than those found in large private corporations. You think you have got what it takes to work in this amazing global organization? Be aware that competition for most positions is tough, but with a lot of preparation and a little luck, you may land your dream job with the UN.

Applying to UN jobs
If you would like to apply to any job posting found on this website, it is important to apply directly with the concerned agency. On this website we only list the latest jobs extracted through RSS feeds from the UN website and its sub-agencies. We do not process applications under any circumstance since we are an independent resource NOT affiliated with the UN.
Most UN agencies will require you to fill out a P11 form in order to apply. A P11 is essentially a detailed resume where you will be asked to list all your diplomas and certifications as well as your professional experience. You will also be asked for other information such as the languages you speak, your dependents and references from previous positions. It will take you a few hours to complete all the fields but the good thing is that the same P11 can then be used to apply to other positions, since most UN agencies use the same P11 format.
