UNOPS

Established as part of the United Nations Development Programme in 1974, UNOPS became an independent, self-financing organization in 1995.

With some 1,000 core staff and tens of thousands of consultants around the world, global headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark and a decentralized network of five regional offices and over 20 operations and project centres, UNOPS oversees activities in more than 50 project countries.

UNOPS uniquely combines United Nations values, not-for-profit status and exemption from tax and customs duties with private sector business efficiencies. This means UNOPS services conform to the highest standards of transparency, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. And UNOPS always ensures that project ownership rests with its clients.
